Driftwood: When Country met Rock

It all started in the spring of 2011.  A band by the name of Hot Pursuit was making a name for itself in the Fond du Lac, Wisconsin area when the band found themselves without a lead singer and a direction. Guitarist Erik Foster and Bassest Jay Salzmann, both with primarily Rock genre backgrounds, wanted to find a different style.

Drummer Matt Birschbach, with a wide variety background (primarily Country/Rock) , wanted to start something that the Fond du Lac Area hasn't seen before - A Country Band!

While Birschbach attended a day at Milwaukee's Summerfest, he randomly facebooked Foster about his idea of starting a Country/ Rock Band.  It was from that point that Driftwood was formed! With a Guitarist, Bassiest, and a Drummer in the lineup, it was time for a lead singer... in walks Alicia Rivera (Foster). Alicia brought a dynamic twist of power and versatility to Driftwood. With the ability to sing both female and male parts, Driftwood was set but still felt like it had a missing piece.

Guitarist Dylan O'Connor was added to Driftwood in 2012. O'Connor brings not only talent but personality to Driftwood. There truly wouldn't be a Driftwood without Dylan.

In 2015, Matt Crowder, a male vocalist, joined Driftwood. Matt hails from Virginia and brings a southern rock twang to the mix!! When Matt and Alicia hit the stage anything is possible.

In early 2017, Chris Steinert made is grand entrance into the band as the first utility player in Driftwood's history. Chris ,not only sings harmonies, but plays mandolin, mouth harp, harmonica and will be gracing the stage with a banjo very soon.

The sky's the limit for this band as they continue to get booked all over Wisconsin. Driftwood thanks all the people that make this dream a reality every week. "Thank you, and we owe you!"
